Interesting, well written review. I did it the other way around: watched the film then read the book. I found the film had an innocent magic - a wonder that many films find it hard to create these days. The book? I literally rushed to the book looking for answers but found horrific paedo stuff (I thought the old man was going to be Oscar in years to come) and I didn't really appreciate the drug angle or fleshing out of the other people (forgetting their names) BUT I loved the glimpses it gave of what it is 'really' like to be a vampire - so depressing and lonely many kill themselves therefore explaining why there are so few, brilliant. I have yet to see the maerican remake but, surprisingly, I have heard good things! Add more film reviews :)

I've been using Nevernote for a few weeks - its the thing that made me give Evernote another try actually. I think its a great piece of software, but it's restricted by the same lack of export options.

I think my use case is the biggest issue. I can see that text file export wouldn't work for folks who store a lot of PDFs, images and web clippings; something which evernote/nevernote are great for.

Evernote does look great on the flyer as well!

As long as Evernote keeps at the forefront of note-taking apps it won't be an issue, but I do worry about committing to something which makes it so hard to get your text back out. What happens when I want to take my 500 notes elsewhere in a years' time?

I also have to assume that this is a deliberate move as the 'email note' function manages to get plain text out and into a message just fine...

Can you include HTC Flyer pen functionality too, please? ;)

The Flyer syncs its notes with Evernote and your points regarding portability of content has me worried if I end up investing in such a tablet.

Keep us all updated.

Thanks for the comment. As you may have seen from my latest post, I am using a Mac as my main work machine now, so I am left with some job to do to offset my footprint now! I actually quite like the fact that my work machine has all the proprietary stuff on it as it means I can leave my home machine completely free and look at anything 'bad' on the work machine.

Watch this space fro release of my first open source coding project!

Thanks for referring to my post from last year.

I love the idea of offsetting your proprietary footprint - much kudos for that one :-)

I am still using Ubuntu on all of my machines and our servers for now. Although if the Natty with Unity release is as cranky as I've seen so far, I may well be moving to something else.
