Funny stuff

Published by under fun stuff

I’ve heard about it before, but I’m only just starting to catch up with Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier’s weekly SMODcast. Its essentially two guys pissing around and being incredibly vulgar, but there’s something very endearing about it all. It’s a bit hit and miss, as a lot of these types of things are, but there’s enough great stuff in there to make it well worth a listen.

Superb papercraft model of Howl’s Moving Castle. 72 hours work to get this thing of beauty built. Nice.

Resolutions well under way

Published by under fun stuff, sporty stuff

I have made a good start on the resolutions I have undertaken, with a kayaking lesson booked and 2.5 weeks of running under my belt. I’ve moved from the office to working at home again now and it is proving a lot easier to fit a run in by being able to go in the middle of the day rather than after work. Also means I can keep an eye on the building work going on down by the canal as well as this seems to have really come on apace in the last month or so. It will be very interesting to see what difference it makes to Wolverton as a town when this is all done.

I’ll try and get some photos to put up soon of what?s going on as I’d like to have a record of how things are changing as the work goes on. I need a good light camera to keep with me while I?m out running so the search is on for a suitable model.

High resolutions

Published by under fun stuff, sporty stuff

My daughter has had to write up some short and long term goals as a homework over the summer holidays. To keep her motivated I have decided to set some of my own, as has my wife. We each had to set a minimum of five goals for the coming year, with at least two of them having to be sporty. My goals are:

  • Run a 10k race in under an hour
  • Climb to the top of the climbing wall in the Xscape centre (in good form)
  • Get my first belt in karate (with Megan)
  • Learn a new watersport (kayaking with all the family)
  • Finish my first year of my OU Maths degree
  • lose four stones in weight

There they are – in public now so I feel some degree of shame if I don’t make them all.

Macheist gathering steam (and cool apps)

Published by under fun stuff,geekery

The previously-mentioned Macheist bundle is now huge, with an extra four apps added and all unlocked except one. This really is too good to miss! If you want to buy, leave me a comment and I’ll invite you – that way I’ll get a copy of Circus Ponies Notebook as a freebie.
